Easyjet Hand Luggage: Dimensions, Weights and Costs

EasyJet carry-on baggage measurements: size, weight and tips

Are you about to leave with EasyJet and not sure what luggage you can take on board? Let’s find out together. It’s very simple: all passengers can only take one carry-on bag on board for free.

easyjet ironik luggageThis luggage must be small and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 45x36x20 cm, including wheels and handles. This is because it must be placed under the seat in front of you. These dimensions should be kept in mind, because they are very different from Ryanair’s dimensions and consequently should not be confused.

How much luggage can you take with EasyJet?

In addition to the small baggage, a larger carry-on baggage can be brought on board. It can be purchased separately with different options: standard Plus package, Flexi fare or EasyJet Plus membership. The larger luggage must be 56x45x25 cm in size and cannot exceed 15 kg in weight. It must be booked in advance.

How to book large luggage EasyJet

Those enrolled in the EasyJet Plus program can simply, when purchasing their flight, add a large carry-on bag to their reservation by entering their EasyJet Plus number. The baggage reservation is required; otherwise, the baggage will be placed in the hold. The cost of joining the EasyJet Plus program is £215 annually. Flexi fare customers may bring one large carry-on bag on board, in addition to the small one allowed for all. Again, the large cabin bag must be booked.

The items allowed as extras

On EasyJet flights some items such as jackets, coats, umbrellas, crutches, and bags from purchases made at the airport duty free are allowed as extras.

Tips for smart luggage

Having therefore been clear about the size your luggage should be if you are traveling with EasyJet, we now give you some small tips for packing smartly.

  1. Make your checked luggage conspicuous on the belt, put a luggage cover on it, for example, and label it with your name and contact information so that it is not mistaken for similar luggage. Also remember to remove any old tags or stickers from previous trips.
  2. Use light but sturdy luggage for your air travel, especially if you have to check it in. Avoid overfilling it, leaving a small space for any purchases on the spot.
  3. Carry with you, in your hand luggage, whether large or small, respecting the allowed size, the basic necessities you may need, such as medicines, any valuables, documents, electronic devices. Regarding the latter pay special attention to their use during the flight. Most airlines accept power banks up to 100 Wh. Some airlines also allow power banks up to 160 Wh. For most airlines, however, prior authorization is required. Regulations may vary depending on the airline.

Sports equipment

A separate paragraph deserves sports equipment: on EasyJet flights, in fact, it is possible to purchase a sports equipment allowance per traveler. There is no limit to the number of small sports equipment allowed per booking, as long as it is no more than one piece per person, while there is such a allowance for large sports equipment. This is to make sure you have enough space for all your luggage. For more information, we recommend visiting the airline’s website. Regarding, in general, EasyJet’s directions on checked baggage, we recommend that you check the airline’s website directly and follow the directions carefully also to be aware of what you can and cannot take inside.
