Makeup, coffee and spices are objects that could be banned from the traveler’s hand baggage on all flights departing from the United Kingdom. It is believed that the government is drafting a new list of items that can not be carried in carry-on baggage. These objects will be able to travel in the hold.

The same limitations could soon be adopted in Australia, the United States and New Zealand.

Mils Hills, an associate professor of risk, resilience and corporate security at the University of Northampton, said: “In itself, these extra restrictions will not create problems for airport security but could potentially fuel general public concerns about flight safety.”
